During the 4-day power packed trade event from 22 – 25 April 2008, FHA2008 attracted the presence of 52,901 trade attendees from the food and hospitality industry. A total of 2,626 exhibitors, an increase of 12.7% from the 2006 edition, exhibited in full force showcasing their latest products, supplies and technologies to a worldwide audience. FHA has once again established itself as Asia’s LARGEST international food and hospitality trade event.

The Asia Barista Championship which was held for the first time at FHA, showcased the creativity and artistry of professional baristas from Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. The Champion of the inaugural Asia Barista Championship was Mr. Carl Sara, New Zealand.

The 2008 edition of the highly anticipated Asian Pastry Cup saw the Singapore team clinch the top honours with the Taiwan and China as 1st and 2nd runner ups respectively. This year’s Asian Pastry Cup had a pleasant surprise as the judges decided to select 4 teams instead of 3 for the World Pastry Cup in Lyon, France. The team from Malaysia will join Singapore, Taiwan and China to compete in the World Pastry Cup.
