"With more than 60% of Asia’s pipeline currently under construction, the pace of guestroom openings is set to accelerate through to 2010. 828 new hotels/134,673 rooms are forecasted to open in 2008, with 438 hotels/69,433 rooms having already opened in first half of the year. For 2009, new openings of 693 hotels/151,692 rooms are expected. 2010 anticipates 611 hotels/159,511 rooms to come online as new supply." |
